Acquisition and transfer of immovable property in India by a person resident outside India is of significance in the context of foreign investment in India and the Firm possesses a special and insightful approach and process to undertake purchase/ sale of immovable property by foreign investors; acquisition of immovable property for carrying on a permitted activity; repatriation of sale-proceeds; prior permission for acquisition or transfer of immovable property in India by way of gift, inheritance or acquisition through lien or purchase. The Firm also assists foreign companies in negotiating with companies in India, in matters of due diligence and drafting various types of agreements, providing overseas investors, comprehensive advice in connection with the regulatory framework governing their investments into India.
